Importing Budgerigars to Turkey

We received the following letter from Murat Soydan (Turkey):

Dear Sir,

I live in Ankara in Turkey and I would like to import some English budgerigars.

Which company would you suggest I use?

Best Regards
Murat Soydan

Redsea Co.

Gerald replies:

Dear Murat,

The choice of company really depends on whether you want to import commercial numbers of pet-quality birds, or, you are looking for exhibition-quality budgerigars from an English source.

Regrettably, we cannot advise on any commercial suppliers at all, as we are confined to the exhibition budgerigar bobby only on this website.

That said, please send an e-mail to myself (, and depending on the colours you prefer, I will advise accordingly.

I would recommend a company called “Jado Bird Trading” in The Netherlands (aka Holland).

    Here is their website address:

An importer in my city (Karachi, Pakistan) has regularly purchased exhibition budgerigars (from Holland and German backgrounds) through this company.

The birds are ringed with original “DSV” and “AZ” if they are from Germany, or “NGC” and “NBS” if they are from Holland.

I suggest that you do try and get in touch with this company.

I myself have acquired some birds from the aforementioned importer and they are really good for a beginner.
